#funonthreads (rando hates me edition)
Update 4/6/2026: A previous iteration of this post showed the other person's username and I identified them based on the first name on their profile but I've edited the images to remove those details. Yes, this person was harassing me, and yes it was unpleasant, but it was a moment in time and I'm happy to move past it.
First things first: yes I was bullied a lot as a kid.
Second things second: I was really just writing a dumb joke.
Third things third: as interactions with internet strangers go, this is some mild stuff, but, like, I really don't understand this instinct or impulse? Like many people, I used to argue on the internet. We're talking like 15 years ago but I did, and I'm not proud of it, and as soon as I realized that some ugly part of me was drawn into conflicts online (usually in re: someone trolling or being racist/sexist/etc, most likely because my undernourished and oversized ego needed strangers to know I believed in the right things) I changed the way I existed online. But even at my worst, I never, ever attacked some random person because that's crazytown bananapants behaviour.
Fourth things fourth: I have no idea who this person is.
Fifth things fifth: Popping in a few hours after posting this to add to it, because this person has decided that I'm a punching bag?
Sixth things sixth: I use my Threads account to repost jokes and post in-game commentary on NBA Threads, WNBA Threads, MLB Threads, and Blue Jays Threads because I am the smart(ish) version of a dumb jock. I never write anything particularly important, or about anything important, so I really, really don't know what's going on and I sure don't like it.
